Anarchive 0.1 beta25 (build 46)

Universal app for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, running macOS 26 or later. Some features need macOS 27 and say so.
Developer ID signed, accepted by Apple notarisation, and stapled.

Beta 25 is the settling beta: library stability, speed and polish. Help > What's New in Anarchive shows the highlights
and what to try.

Beta, free and private
- Anarchive is a free beta. It isn't finished: use it at your own risk, and keep backups of your originals and your
  libraries somewhere Anarchive doesn't use. Each beta expires 90 days after it's built, with two weeks' notice;
your libraries and originals are left as they are.
- Your pictures, videos and libraries stay on your Mac and are processed there. There's no account, no analytics
and no cloud service of Anarchive's own, and every model it uses runs on your Mac.
- The only internet contact Anarchive makes by itself is a daily check for a newer beta; Settings > General
switches it off. If your originals are in iCloud Photos, Photos may fetch them when needed (Settings >
  Photos & Sharing).
Anything else, such as downloading an optional model or turning on agent access, happens only when you ask.
- Found a problem? Help > Send Feedback... or feedback@getanarchive.com. Please don't send originals unless asked.
- The terms are in Help > Anarchive Licence Agreement, and in "Anarchive Licence Agreement.txt" beside the app.

Updates: Anarchive > Check for Updates... offers a newer beta with its notes; nothing installs without a click.
Beta 24.1 offers this beta through Check for Updates; later betas arrive the same way.

New
- Anarchive has a new name inside macOS. Your settings, presets, set lists and models carry over once. Recent
libraries and referenced originals need your permission again: File > Reconnect Folder... reconnects everything in a
folder you choose, checking each file first. Photos asks again, and the footprint password is asked once.
macOS also asks once whether Anarchive may read external and removable disks: allow it if your pictures are there.
- Agents can show their results as a temporary view, with Return to Previous View, and send a contact sheet (it counts
as that many pictures, and asks under Ask Each Time). They also say each preview's size.
- Crash reports, if you want them: Settings > General > Crash Reports is off to begin with. When on, reports are kept
on your Mac, and reach us only if you attach them to Help > Send Feedback... yourself.
- Help > How It Works has five short notes on the ideas behind what Anarchive does. Contact No. 25 has three new
pages, on bent lenses, a crowd's middle guess and drawings held on twos, and names its contributors.
- A promise about libraries: from beta 25 on, a library keeps opening in later builds. One made by a newer build says
which, and offers Check for Updates.

Changed
- Later opens of a Photos library read only what changed: 50,000 pictures took 13.7 seconds before and 0.1 second now
(a test library; yours will differ).
- The agent connector stays quick while others run (a ping took 2 seconds, now 2 milliseconds). Busy and time-limit
replies say so, it reconnects after the app quits or changes library, counts name their unit, and results sort by
  date, rating or visual match.
- Combine opens without a separate checking pass and shows the reference frame first, in about 0.7 second.
- Four places that could stall Anarchive under heavy load (panoramas, time-lapse movies, clip-style previews and Frame
Stills) now run off the busy lanes.
- An accessibility sweep: labels and values, Return and Escape, Reduce Motion and Differentiate Without Colour.
- Listen moves to Option-Command-0.

Fixed
- JPEG and HEIF pictures from any camera are no longer lens-corrected a second time: the camera has already done it.

Not yet
- Detailed downloadable offline maps (delayed), and a playing movie of a Time Wall.
